In Cloud 9

Monday 26/09/11 @ 4.15pm: Snapped some photos while on Karak Highway a couple of minutes after leaving Genting Tiara and after much rainfall. One can expect to see such sceneries often along the Karak Highway to or from Genting Tiara especially on a day just before or after the rain. These scenes can truly heal the soul, relax the mind and bring us into a realm where the mountains softly touch the skies - HEAVENLY. Definitely causes one to have second thoughts returning to the city.

But even on such days , Mother Nature never fails to colour the world . . .

nor make our life any less interesting with her other creations . . .

P.S. Do not let the above pic fool you. It's just slightly smaller than the size of your thumb's nail. Don't think it's dangerous but if you get bitten, don't hope to turn into 'Your Friendly Neighbourhood - Spiderman'. Just appreciate that you have your own National Geographic Channel - LIVE!

  2. Hi, SK. Glad that you are interested in Genting Tiara. Yes, there are lands for sale, some ready built bungalows too. You may check out www.iproperty.com.my and search for 'genting tiara for sale' or 'genting sempah for sale' (as Genting Tiara is located in the town of Genting Sempah).

I noticed very recently a banner being put up upon entering the guardhouse about bungalows for sale from RM850K with land area from 6000 sf and built up of 3500 sf if not mistaken. You may check that out too. I will try to get you the contact number when I go there again.

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, are you a Malaysian or a foreigner? I assume you have not stepped into Genting Tiara. If possible, it would be best to go there personally to appreciate what is being offered and also to check out the exact location of lands/bungalows available for sale.

    1. Dear Daniel
We are Singaporeans looking for an alternative lifestyle for retirement. We enjoy cool weather and Genting Tiara seems a possible place. We have not been there except what we found on the web. We are also looking at Tanarimba which seems a lovely place.
Unfortunately, when we enquire through iproperty, agents don't seem to reply.

      Thanks.

  3. Hi, SK. Being Singaporeans or Malaysians living in hot weather most times of the year and one which is getting hotter year by year, Genting is without a doubt one of the best locations nearest to home to escape to as a weekend resort and especially for retirement living. Am glad that you are one of those who realised this most priceless option which is available to those who know what to truly cherish in their life.

Honestly, I came to know about Tanarimba only after you mentioned it. Did some research on the net and realised that it is sort of like Genting Tiara x 10, at least size wise. As I don't really know much about Tanarimba and coming from Genting Tiara, I can only share with you in the briefest way possible why I chose Genting Tiara:-

    1) Fast arrival i.e proximity to city. I believe the shorter the destination, the higher the frequency of travel to the said destination by ourselves or our visitors. Travel time plays a very important part in determining how willing we are to drive to our new resort/retirement home on a regular basis. Shorter travel time also equals less time spent driving on the road which means less exposure to travel hazards, hence a safer ride everytime.

    2) Optimum altitude - with an average altitude of 630m above sea level, the temperature is just perfect, not too hot and not too cold.

    3) Strategic position - Unblocked and facing only an opposite hill, an almost constant supply of cool breeze ensures fresh and cool air into houses. Best of all, this place is nestled in nature which we seek yet is just a stone's throw away from civilisation and modern amenities, thus avoiding any feeling of remoteness and isolation.

    4) Low density - at less than 100 plots and surrounded by rainforests, there will never be congested living within Genting Tiara. Moreover, it will take many, many more years before even 50% of the plots have bungalows built on them.

    5) Lower cost and faster move-in time - A couple of ready built bungalows with standard designs (practical though regular looking) allow one the affordability to own a bungalow and start enjoying the use of it within a very short time ie within less than 6 months.

Ultimately, everyone's choice and preference is different and only you will know what you look for and value in your desired retirement lifestyle. Advertisements by real estate agents in websites can sometimes be inaccurate and misleading.

Therefore, my advice would still be to rely more on your own firsthand experience of the 2 locales - drive there, observe the surroundings and ultimately trust your own feelings on which locale most suits your preferred retirement plan and lifestyle.

Here's wishing you and your loved ones a most "wonderful Chinese New Year filled with joy and good health".
